I had a great Thanksgiving, and for my readers in America, I hope you did as well! The holidays come with a lot of food, which is not a good thing for someone like me. I LOVE food. I turn to food for comfort, celebration, anxiety, pretty much any emotion I feel, and being surrounded by roasted turkey and mashed potatoes is a huge trap for me. Needless to say, I didn’t do great on my diet this week.
A few weeks before Thanksgiving I enjoyed a few day vacation in Denver, taking in a Bronco game and eating everything in sight. Since then I have found it hard to not only go back to the gym, but to prepare my healthy meals. Midterms “forced” me to eat a lot of fast food, and Thanksgiving “forced” me to eat A LOT of mashed potatoes. I have gained six pounds since the week before Denver, and I can feel it in my body.
So, I am giving myself a 30 day challenge, and I am inviting you to join me! No, I am not sponsored by any weight loss products. I am not going to use these 30 days to try and sell you a product you don’t need. I am just using these 30 days to get myself back on track and see how far I can push myself until Christmas Day.
For the next 30 days (starting 11/26) my challenge is this:
- stay within my allotted calorie goal each day
- one hour at the gym four days each week
- record my weight each morning
- complete my daily devotional
I encourage you to join me! I am going to track my progress via my blog (hopefully daily) and I will take you along with me on Instagram (karisa_d).
Let’s push ourselves and take control of our health!
